Passion & Collections.

Since we, the Prostho QMULians, are in our study weeks now for the upcoming exam, and no 'studying' will be complete without having to read the books *yucks!* - so naturally, topik kali ni adalah tntg B-U-K-U.
bi yu bu, kay u ku, buku! hehehehe *wink wink*

We're quite an avid reader, tp bukan buku belajar ler hehehe
a trip to KLCC, MidValley or Curve -our fav joints- won't be complete without a short detour to the bookstores..

And between me & him, he's probably the voracious one when it comes to reading.
aku dah penat baca masa blaja dulu! hehehe alasannn!
And he dreams to have a mini-library at home before he turns 40!
Habislah semua ruang simpanan, none left for me! ;)

Enough said, this is his utmost passion..

Half of his collections back in Cheras, July 2008.

The packing area : August 2008. BTHO, Cheras.
Yup, stayed like this for the whole August!! grrr!

One of the most 'depressing' things for him to leave back home, are his books. In fact, it was probably the only thing that he actually packed - by himself!
~Packing or messing things up?? Typical org lelaki 'mengemas' ?!

Nasib baik buku jer yg packing elok2, all of his magazines were spared, sumbat jer dlm kotak (tu pun sbb tuan punya dah penat, kalau tak...).
Imagine kalau tak, mesti jenuh nak pack satu2!

The collections: 18 Sept 2008 - finally packed, sealed and delivered to the storage room.
The pic as captured in the last few minutes of our BTHO home..
(the most depressing part? :P)

His new collections: May 2009. Barking.
The collections are obviously not mine! ~except for the chic lit novels :)

He sometimes grumble that he misses his books esp when he wants to check/verify something. Apa-apa ntah!?

P/s: Actually baru jer start balik mengumpul/membaca buku2 kat sini since awal tahun. kekadang tuh si dia study lebih byk dr aku! hehehe
yang paling best, buku2 kat sini mmg murah sangat, esp kalau beli online.
dan rasanya sure pening kepala mcmana nak bwk balik buku2 ni bila nak balik nnti..

Oh Ohh!! Kena sambung balik baca notes & books..exam dah dekat! :-/

"Cooking" with Jamie Oliver.. :-)

Location: Selfridges, London
Time : 8.45 - 10am
Activity: Bertemu sifu/ Ministry of Food/ the Naked Chef (errr..I prefer not to translate this! :P)

Pagi2 buta dah tercongok kat depan Selfridges.. Bersemangat giloss..

kebetulan lak takde kelas pagi... Tujuannya adalah untuk bertemu sifu in person! Masa sampai ni, takde org pun lagi.. maklumler Selfridges nih kat Oxford Street (tempat sopping tersohor kat London), so rerasanya musti smua org lom bangun lagi kan.. takpon smua org bizi nak g kerja.. so tinggalla kami bertiga jer: yg takde kerja-tapi ada exam ni- tercongok2 menunggu kedai bukak.. :D

sementara duk tercongok2 nih, kami merangka plan.. sebabnya HANYA 100 customer pertama jer yg boleh q utk bertemu sifu! dalam hati, risau gak takut tak sempat jd the first 100 customers!

Sebenarnya sekarang nih (bulan Mei) Selfridges tgh buat 100years celebration- diorg est tahun 1909.. memang promotion gila2 gak la.. semua benda diorg kuarkan limited edition, khas utk celebration ni.. Macam2 ada, dr Blackberry, handbags, hiasan rumah, crockery hinggala botol air coke pon diorg wat limited edition bewarna kuning!!

So sebaik sahaja Selfridges bukak, kitorg terus meluru ke basement. Takut tak sempat jd the first 100 customers punya pasal.. Naza terus Q (dia dah beli mags siap2 semalam), sementara kitorg g beli buku.. and I'm the first person to buy his book from Selfridges today!!

Lepas byr buku, terus join Naza masuk Q. Kitorg org pertama yg q, tp sbb nak bg peluang kat budak kecik mat saleh amik sign dulu, saja bermurah hati tukar tempat (sambil2 boleh plan/tgk mana location strategic nak snap gambar).. so kitorg jd la org ke 4-6 dlm Q tuh.. tak sesia tercongok tunggu kedai bukak.. :D

Aku org ke 6 dlm q.

sambil q tuh, kitorg aturkan plan.. get everything ready. plan nak snap gambr dr angle mana.. etc..etc.. tanggungjawab nk amik gambar nih kitorg serahkan kat 2bijik kamera DSLR ngan sebijik kamera Lumix cikai ku..

then tunggu...

punya tunggu... ~tak lama pun, q dlm 10minit jer..

akhirnya..

Si Dia muncul! on time! tepat pukul 10pg, seperti yg dijanjikan... hehehehe masa nih makcik2 dan akak2 kat belakang kitorg dah menjerit2 excited! hehehe

My cooking Sifu! Incik JAMIE OLIVER!! :D

memula sampai tuh dia sibuk promote 3rd edition magazine dia kat reporters..

bila dah setel, then baru dia start ngan signing sessions!

Dia nih tersangatla sempoi...

sempatla dia bagi kata2 perangsang...
errr... and he gave me his new roasted chicken recipe ~but i've promised him to keep my mouth shut! :P

The Chef and The Future Chef! :P
Bila berada di sebelah celebrity, tetiba terasa cam celebrity laks! hahahahaha :P ~kamera byk sangat, tatau nak pandang kamera mana...

Actually nih la official book signing session oleh Jamie Oliver nih.. session ni pun dibuat sempena 100 years Selfridges (sebabtuh hanya 100 jer customer yg layak amik sign..) thats why kamera byk sgt+ reporters ramai giloss.. ntah2 esok masuk paper! hehehe

Gmbar nih aku suruh pekerja Selfridges ambikkan.. Thats why dapat zoom dekat.. and aku suruh gak si jamie nih posing... nak kena framekan letak kat dapur, sbg inspirasi memasak! hehehe

lepas amik sign,saja2 pusing Selfridges..
semua hiasan dibuat dgn warna KUNING!

Dah boring pusing2, kitorg terus kuar dan g melepak kat Starbucks Oxford Circus.. minum frappucino.. sambil borak2, gossiping, updating.. and planning for another book signing session! :P

owh! I'm so inspired! :D
Thanks, Sifu! I'll work harder to become a better cook!

~and he is the 1st person to officially wish us happy anniversary... :D

The Great British Food Fight.
okay.. so dah jumpa sorang.. need to work hard to look for the other 2 che

Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah

Hari ini dalam sejarah.
Sepanjang 5 tahun jadi dental student,
hampir 6tahun kerja jd dentist,
hampir setahun jadi masters student,

tapi

nih kira first time

patient aku collapsed atas dental chair!!!!!!!

siap 'crash team' royal london hospital berlari ke dental clinic
ada dalam 10 org, team dia: 5org medical officers, 3org nurses, sorg site manager, sorg driver ambulance, tak termasuk security guards seramai 3 org (utk clearkan laluan doktor2 nak berlari ke site) datang attend ke chair aku! hahahahaha siap ada yg bwk blood/plasma in case perlu blood transfusion lagi..
*diorg sungguh efficient, ok! they can be at the site within less than 5minutes!
tapi pemerhati bebas wakil dentists NHS/ staff restorative qmul adala dekat 30 org!(tp jd tukang perati je ler..) hehehe
aku?? confirm ler duk dalam statistik pemerhati bebas jugakk!!! :P

kesnya: panic attack, sebab she was being caught 'lying' by Prof Wright!
tp pengsan pon kejap jer, gimik jer tuh kot?! sbb kena 'tangkap' red-handed! :D
...and the patient ugut nak sue the dental hospital nih..sabo je ler.. ~bukan salah kitorg pon! hehehehe

Glamer sioot harinih! :D
dan aku respek sungguh dgn cara prof buat kerja+ manage kerenah pt!

Briyani Gam.

Food therapy, sempena exam..

kitorg masak nasik beriyani ahad lepas.
eventhough dah berlambak2 kedai jual nasik beriyani, tapi saja gataii nak test power (kununla kan :P) teringin nak makan briyani malaysian style lak..
kebetulan 'terjumpa' rempah nasi beriyani kat dlm almari food, di celah2 koleksi rempah2 kari, rasanya my mom pos 3bulan lepas... (erm, kitorg boleh bukak bisnes jual rempah kari daging/ayam adabi kat sini- kat dlm koleksi saja ada dkt 3kilo rempah kari! confirm 3tahun takyah beli rempah lagi, silap2 by the time nak balik mesia pon lom habis jugak lagi! :P tuh tak termasuk rempah2 sup dan berbagai jenis rempah lagi...rempah nasik dagang pon ada... hehe)

masak nasik beriyani dengan kari kambing
~sinih murah giloss kambing, compared to daging lembu. dan paling best, kambing dia tak berbau sangat.. ntah2 sbb tuh daging kambing bebiri kot? kira spesis lain sket dr kambing mesia, thats why tak hamis.. (agaknyala..)

so nih la hasilnya.....

Briyani kambing dengan sayur goreng. *sila click gambar*

credit to Rempah Briyani Adabi.
Kira rempah ni 2-in-1 ; blh guna utk nasi dan kari.
Seriously, sedap!!
Betul, betul, betul !!!

p/s: seriously, aku tak dapat apa2 komisyen dr adabi.. kira promote free dah ni! :D
so sesapa yg plan nak bwk 'buah tgn' dr mesia, (dgn muka tak malu) boleh nak request rempah ni tak?? hehehe :P

Halal KFC@London?! It's the Original!

Statements about KFC:
1. Everyday I have to walk in front of a big KFC restaurant in Barking on my way to school but never been able to buy since it was not halal, and we end up buying Pakistani's styled fried chicken instead! :D
2. KFC London offers a slightly different meal sets compared to Malaysian KFC.
3. KFC meals are much cheaper than Pakistani's fried chicken meals.
4. I have Muslim friends from London who never taste KFC in their whole life because it is not Halal! Pity 'em.. :P
5. Halal KFC in Paris is one of the 'must-go' places in Paris, esp among Malaysians. :)
6. Even some of my friends brought KFC from Paris as 'souvenirs' for their loved ones! hehehe

So after nearly 8months dreading to eat the finger licking good KFC meal, finally Halal KFC is in town!! There are 8 halal KFC stores, and most of them are in East London! (I wonder what took them too long to offer halal kfc stores? they should start earlier, since there are thousands of Muslims in UK/London!)

I had my first taste of London's KFC today! Luckily the nearest halal KFC store is just in Upton Park; 2 tube stations away from Barking.. and the store is just outside the Upton Park's station!

The Halalan Toyyiban KFC meal..

*Burpp... I'm full! :P

My Pakcik..

Ni cerita pakcik saya.. He was once a graphic designer, been in advertising business and several other businesses until he found his dream job! Congrats on your first solo arts exhibition, Ayah Mad! :-)

Special life moments etched in acrylic

KUALA LUMPUR: He was only five when he first started sketching. And his first few sketches were of former prime ministers, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj and Tun Abdul Razak Hussein.

It was then that Wan Ahmad Ngah realised he had a talent in drawing.

Prior to becoming a full-time artist, he was with TV3 as its head of design, dealing with production designs.

"There are no differences between canvas and screen because the line of work is still the same. It is all about creativity and art but in a different scope."

Yesterday, the 53-year-old launched his first solo exhibition titled "Moments" at Balai Berita gallery of the New Straits Times Press, Bangsar.
Focusing on his works at the exhibition, he said his paintings captured special feelings through split second moments.

"Everything that God created has its own significance.

"It is also one of the reasons why I relate the connection between humans and other elements of life in my work."

The exhibition on paintings depicting moments in life in acrylic ends on May 29.

Moral of the story:
Money is not everything.. (ye ke?? :P) The most important thing is job satisfaction- especially when money is not your first priority.. hopefully I'll get the chance to do my dream job one day.. ~and of course, its nothing to do with human teeth, mouth mirrors and dental chairs!! :D
